Communication

Dr. Rubin believes that good communication is essential to proper treatment. Thus, he encourages communication with your entire medical and healthcare team. Dr. Rubin also encourages you to communicate with your team on regular intervals. Dr. Rubin is available to “coach” and prepare you for meetings with your physicians in terms of the proper questions to ask and the important information to glean. He will also review, with you, the notes that you take during your consultations with your healthcare team. Also, Dr. Rubin teaches you to keep a constant list of questions or concerns for each meeting with your physicians. In addition, Dr. Rubin can educate you on how to manage this information and how to become and advocate for yourself or your family member. In this way each person can improve their communication with and inspire the members of their healthcare team.
